ST ANDREWS CHARITY FASHION SHOW
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 1992, FS began as a small collective of students looking to give back to their community. Today, FS is the largest and most successful student-run fashion show in Scotland and the first of its kind in the United Kingdom.
Each academic year, we host two events to fundraise for our elected charitable partner: Starfields, the UK’s largest student-run music festival in September, and the St Andrews Charity Fashion Show (FS) in February. From 2011-2019, we also hosted the Young Designer Award (YDA) program – an annual, nationwide competition for the U.K.’s most promising up-and-coming designers. In 2020, we introduced Fashion 4 the Earth or “F4TE” Week, a series of lectures and a live panel dedicated to sustainable fashion featuring leaders in the industry.
In 33 years, we have raised over £600,000 in donations and helped a new generation of talented young designers develop and grow in the fashion industry.
OUR MISSION
To highlight the role all students play in determining the future of the fashion industry and to engage students in deserving philanthropic causes.
As the next generation of the fashion industry, we are passionate about sustainability. We recognise our responsibility to pursue green alternatives and raise awareness for more ethical choices. At FS, we are actively doing our part to build a sustainable future for fashion.

WHAT WE DO
Starfields, or SF, is the largest student run music festival in the UK, hosting one-third of all St Andrews undergraduate students. The event has emerged, through its reputation as one of the most popular events in the St Andrews calendar and one of the biggest fresher events. Each September, Starfields welcomed over 2,500 guests to St Andrew’s iconic Lower College Lawn.
F4TE (Fashion 4 the Earth) week is the newest addition to the FS organization. F4TE week is an entire week of events dedicated solely to sustainability and social responsibility. The launch of this new initiative accelerated the sustainable transition of FS and enabled an impact across St Andrews and the student fashion show community across the UK.
The annual St Andrews Charity Fashion Show, or FS, attracts 1,700 guests, with an additional 250+ guests attending the After Party. Each year, FS features over 45 designers, ranging from couture brands to up-and-coming talents.
FS has featured the couture collections of Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Fendi, Nicole Miller, APC, and Ted Baker, established streetwear designers such as Carhartt, Rowing Blazers, YMC, Folk, alongside the graduate collections of young designers. The theme, models, and catwalk change each year to create an entirely new show.
This year’s creative theme focuses on the past 30 years of FS and fashion. By returning to our roots, we hope to look forward to the possibilities of FS through its creative, musical, sustainable, and philanthropic prospects.
