FAQs

What events are held by FS?

FS hosts two flagship events every academic year: the Starfields music festival, traditionally a part of the Freshers’ Week calendar, and the eponymous St Andrews Charity Fashion show, typically taking place in February. Additionally, FS holds a variety of smaller events throughout the year; in the past, these have included nights out at the Vic, clothing swaps and other sustainability-focused events, discussion panels, charity football matches, and more.

How can I attend your events?

We refrain from invite-only events, and instead welcome all who are able to buy tickets, subject to availability. FS promotes our events through Facebook and Instagram. Make sure to read the event details; some events require QR codes from FIXR, while others require students to pick up wristbands beforehand.

Ticket Pricing.

FS is a philanthropic endeavor; no committee members profit off of the events we throw. What this means is that what you pay into a ticket goes directly to your experience at one of our events or to a worthy charity. Producing an event in our rural seaside town is no easy feat; we build from the ground up every year to create an experience on par with some fashion shows in major cities. In order to achieve this we must bring in out of town contractors who need lodging during build times, rent temporary tent structures to house each event, hire musicians of the caliber students have come to expect from FS and so much more.

How to get involved and stay up to date?

The best way to stay up to date with the goings-ons of FS is to like our official Facebook page or follow our Instagram. This page is the first-hand authority on the events and opportunities for involvement that we will have throughout the year.

Each year’s FS committee is assembled in early spring for the upcoming academic year - keep an eye out for applications when the time comes! The FS committee also seeks to involve talented and passionate individuals in their work through model auditions, volunteer dressers for the fashion show, and more. Information regarding these opportunities will be posted to our Facebook page.  There are also a variety of ways to get involved with FS at the corporate level.

How do I attend the fashion show? What is a ballot?

Attendance at the annual St Andrews Charity Fashion Show is determined via a ballot, in which a group of ten submit their names for attendance. FS conducts its fashion show ticket sales through a ballot to ensure that groups are committed to their attendance and to provide guests with a fair likelihood of obtaining tickets, rather than rushing to purchase and hoping to obtain attendance prior to tickets selling out. Balloting occurs for both ticketing types (VIP and standard). Afterparty tickets are sold in the aftermath of balloting, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you are not a student at the University, and are for example an alumni or an FS partner, and would like to attend, please email  for more info.
